Truckee River

CLASS II-III, Half-day rafting trips twice daily. Full-day Trips available in 2017!

Lake Tahoe has 63 streams that flow into it and only one that flows out, the Truckee River.  Flowing north to the town of Truckee before turning east and flowing out of the mountains to the Nevada desert. Unlike the flat upper section of the Truckee River the lower Truckee Gorge has Class II and III rapids that make for a fun and exciting ride while not being very threatening. This guided whitewater trip starts of mellow and slowly builds to a mile of continuous class III just before the end, perfect for first timers to get used to paddling and comfortable in the boat.



North Fork American River

CLASS IV, Full day rafting trip.

Season: Spring March-May to July Approx. 1 hr 15 min from shop

From its headwaters on the backside of Granite Chief Peak, the top of Squaw Valley ski area, the North Fork American River flows free and clear through remote wilderness and extreme rapids. Located above Lake Clementine and the first dam on the North Fork American River, the chamberlain Falls Run is known for its pristine water, epic class IV rapids and fields of wild flowers along the steep and narrow canyon. Depending on the water level this can be a good beginner class IV River or a difficult Class IV+ adventure. Water level and available season varies greatly due to the lack of dams upstream and weather.        


CArson river

Class II, Full-day or Multi-day rafting Trip

Flowing from its source high up in the Ice House Wilderness Area the Carson river takes you from high elevation pine forrest down to the Nevada basin desert. Lush Forested areas, snow covered peaks, large rock outcroppings, wildlife, hot springs are what the Carson river is all about. This class II rafting trip is great for the whole family and even the most experienced rafters consider the Carson a must do trip, for what it lacks in whitewater is mare than compensated for by hot springs/streams, great camping, amazing scenery and crystal clear water. offered as a one day trip or a two day hot spring camping adventure



Middle Fork American River

CLASS IV, Full-Day or Multi-day Rafting Trip

Season: May October Approx. 1 hr 45 min from shop

The Middle Fork American River is located near Auburn California deep in a steep a rugged river canyon. One of California's gold rivers the Middle Fork was heavily mined for many years and not so long ago there were still small dredges in use at various places. recently dredging has stopped and the Middle Fork American River is eligible for Wild and Scenic designation. Left behind by the miners are old relics of the gold rush and a one of a kind rapid called Tunnel Chute, the first of six class IV rapids on the trip. This dammed controlled river has very reliable flows and season.
