Tahoe City Float / Rental operations?
No, we only offer guided whitewater trips on the Truckee River near Hirschdale. As we are lower down the canyon, we have more water and are often open when the rental places are closed.
What to bring?
Shoes that will stay on your feet (no flip flops). We do sell shoes at the shop.
Swimming attire (non-cotton). Shirt for sun protection or warmth.
Sunscreen and a water bottle that can clip into boat if you want (we do provide water).
Optional - Towel/change of clothes in a small bag for after the trip.
What is Class II-III rapids (level 2-3) ?
On a scale of 1-6, 1 being flat water and 6 being unnavigable. Class III is introductory guided whitewater. Fun and exciting while not being too threatening.
Payment & Cancelation Policy
Full payment is due at the time of booking in most cases.
On half-day trips any cancelation more than 48 hours prior to trip will receive a full refund.
On full-day trips any cancelation more than 72 hours prior to trip will receive a full refund.
Cancelations within the 2-3 day window that applies to the trip will only receive 80% of their trip cost back. But hey, that’s pretty good!
Gratuities
Gratuities for the guides and driver are not included in the price of the trip and are customary in our industry. The amount is obviously up to the group, and most small groups will take care of anything they wish to tip at the end of the trip. However, for large/corporate groups we do ask that a 15% gratuity be included in the final invoice.
No experience or can’t swim?
No problem, swimming is not a requirement. For our class II and some class IV trips we do not require any rafting experience. Our guides excel at teaching first timers to safely raft.
Weight Limit?
Not really, but our personal floatation devices (life jackets) only fit up to a 58" chest.
